Claude (MCP connector)

Connect Claude to Autosignly through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, Claude can work with your Autosignly templates and documents on your behalf — it signs in as you, using your own 16it login, and only sees the company you choose.

There is no API key to copy. You never paste any secret into Claude — you simply log in with your 16it account in the browser, exactly like signing in to the app.

Before you start

The connector reuses your normal 16it account and company, so finish the onboarding first:

  1. Getting started — create your 16it account (register, activate, sign in).
  2. Adding a company — add at least one company in Autosignly.

Without an account and a company there is nothing for Claude to act on.

What Claude can do

The connector exposes a focused set of tools:

Read

  • List the companies you belong to
  • List and read document templates
  • List and read documents (with signing status)

Create / send

  • Create a document template (from HTML)
  • Generate a document from a template
  • Send a document for signing (SES / AES / QES)

Claude asks which company to use before doing anything company-specific. Actions that create data or send signing invitations require your confirmation in the Claude client.

Connect in Claude Code

Claude Code is the recommended way to use the connector today.

  1. Add the server:

claude mcp add --transport http \
    --client-id 16it-mcp \
    --callback-port 8080 \
    autosignly https://mcp.16it.eu/mcp
  2. Authenticate — in a session run:

    /mcp

Choose autosignly → Authenticate. Your browser opens the 16it login page; sign in with your account. Claude stores the session locally and refreshes it automatically.

  3. Use it — ask naturally, e.g. "list my companies in autosignly", then "show the templates for company X" or "generate a document from template Y and send it for signing to [email protected]".

Check the connection anytime with claude mcp list (look for autosignly ✓ Connected).

Data & permissions

  • Claude acts as the signed-in user — it can only do what your 16it account can do.
  • Every action is scoped to the company you select; you can switch companies at any time.
  • No separate credentials are issued — the browser login and its refresh token are the only authentication.
note

The connector is rolling out. If claude mcp list shows needs authentication or failed to connect, re-run Authenticate from /mcp.
